Best Times to Cam for Money: Hours and Days, Site by Site

You've probably heard "stream at night, that's when people tip." It's only half true. Every cam site has its own crowd, living in different time zones, so every site has its own rush hour. These charts show exactly when tips come in, so you can plan your schedule around real numbers instead of guesses.

How to read the charts: each bar is one hour of the day, from midnight on the left to midnight on the right (US Eastern time). The taller the bar, the more tips came in during that hour. The darker bars are the site's busiest four hours. All the numbers are site-wide totals over four weeks, never about any one model.

All the big sites together

Put all six big sites together and the busiest stretch is the late afternoon and evening, with the quietest hours in the early morning. But the combined chart hides the most useful part: each site is very different.

Stripchat: busiest in the US morning

Stripchat's crowd leans European, so its rush hour is the US morning and early afternoon. If you're in the Americas and don't want to stay up until 2am, that's a big plus. It's also the best site for couples, and couple rooms there peak at the same time. See our Stripchat guide.

Chaturbate: busiest late at night

Chaturbate's crowd keeps American hours. Tips build through the evening and peak around midnight Eastern. It's also one of the most even sites through the day, so there's no truly dead time. See our Chaturbate guide.

MyFreeCams: a big late-night rush

MyFreeCams has the sharpest swing of any site. Late at night it's packed, and in the morning it's very quiet: its busiest hour brings in more than three times the tips of its quietest. If you're a night owl, it's a great fit. See our MyFreeCams guide.

CamSoda: late nights, smaller crowd

CamSoda also peaks late at night Eastern. It's a smaller site, so there's less competition at its busy hours. See our CamSoda guide.

BongaCams: the afternoon site

BongaCams' crowd is mostly in Europe, so its busy time is the US afternoon, from about 3pm to 7pm Eastern. Great if you can stream after lunch but not late at night. See our BongaCams guide.

LiveJasmin: late afternoon and early evening

LiveJasmin earns mostly from private shows, which this tip data doesn't fully capture, but its public tips still peak in the US late afternoon. See our LiveJasmin guide.

The best days of the week

Friday and Saturday are the biggest days, and Monday is the smallest. The gap isn't huge, though: every day still brings in plenty of tips. If you can only stream a few days, start with Friday and Saturday, the two biggest days on every site. Then add Sunday on Chaturbate, Stripchat or BongaCams, or Thursday on MyFreeCams, CamSoda or LiveJasmin, which is the next biggest day there.

How to use this for your own schedule

To see these hours in your own time zone, use our best time to stream tool.

1. Start with your site's busy hours. If they don't fit your life, our cam site finder can suggest a site whose busy hours do.
2. Test the hour before the peak too. That's when viewers are arriving and rooms are filling up, so it can be easier to get noticed.
3. Keep the same times every week. Regulars are where steady money comes from, and they need to know when to find you.
4. Write everything down. Note when you streamed, for how long and what you made. After a few weeks your own numbers will tell you more than any chart.
5. Run the numbers. Plug your schedule into the earnings calculator.
